No. UpcharHub is practice-management software for registered medical practitioners. It does not create or issue prescriptions for patients, and it does not sell, stock or dispense any medicine. A doctor writes up their own visit and prints an unsigned draft, which becomes a valid prescription only after that treating doctor signs it. No patient can sign up for UpcharHub or ask it for anything: the only things that ever reach a patient are a copy of what their own doctor wrote and chose to send them, and a reminder of the follow-up date that doctor set.

Yes, and it is on by default — so this is not a feature UpcharHub has and Practo Ray lacks. What differs is what lands on the patient's phone. Practo's own help page says Practo tells the patient about the record “through SMS/Email” and that “the SMS will contain a link which through which patient will be able to download the app and view his records”. UpcharHub sends the prescription itself, as a picture in the patient's WhatsApp: nothing for them to install, no account to create, and nothing to open before they can read it. Both need the patient's phone number on file — with UpcharHub, if there isn't one, nothing is sent and you print as you always have.

UpcharHub checks the prescription when you print for major interactions, pregnancy and allergies, with dose checks for about 20 high-risk medicines. It makes your letterhead from a photo of your old one, and prints the dose line in the patient's own language — one of ten — under the 1-0-1 grid. We couldn't find caution checks, a letterhead maker or patient-language dose lines on Practo Ray's clinic page as of November 2026. Practo Ray does have templates.
